German Textile Machinery Builders continue their promotion studies globally. Within the frame of these studies, German manufacturers organized 2 consecutive events in Turkey. “The conference organized under the title “ German Technology Meets Turkish Textile” was held in Istanbul on 12-13 November 2012 and in Gaziantep on 15-16 November 2012. B2B meetings also received great interest besides the conference presentations of the event program. Textil Dünyasi Magazine was present at the events as media partner and the participation of 600 industry specialists and decision makers was promising in terms of trade between both countries. The roof organization of German Textile Machinery Builders, VDMA focus on their studies dedicated for the Turkish Industry. In Turkey being their second largest market in the global market, German Machinery Builders met the local industry representatives during the events.
The conferences focused basically on two main subjects while the BlueCompetence Project highlighted in the global market with the sustainability concept and developments on technical textiles were presented. Herzog, Autefa Solutions, DIENES Apparatebau, DILO SYSTEMS, Erbatech, FONG’S Europe, Groz-Beckert, Heusch, Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute, Karl Mayer, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, LIBA, Lindauer DORNIER, Mahlo, Mayer & Cie., OEKO-TEX, Neuenhauser Maschinenbau, Oerlikon Neumag, Oerlikon Saurer Allma Product Line, Pleva, Rieter Ingolstadt, Textechno, Trützschler Nonwovens, Trützschler, Welker Spintex, Wumag Texroll.
At VDMA events as the main topic, BLUecoMPETENCE and sustainability were discussed in Turkey as it was in the global market. The German expertise in textile production chain ranging from spinning to finishing and savings and productivity in energy, cotton and other consumables was presented to the Turkish visitors at the conferences titled “German Technology meets Turkish Textile” and held in Istanbul on 12-13 November 2012 and in Gaziantep on 15-16 November 2012. VDMA published the BLUecoMPETENCE Energy Efficiency Guide in Turkish and thus reflected clearly its full support to this approach. After the presentations made at the conference titled “German Technology meets Turkish Textile”, companies had the opportunity to review their commercial studies with customers at the special areas organized for B2B interviews.
Technical Textiles were spoken on the First Day
On the first day of the conference, textile machineries and spare parts, technical textiles and nonwoven production were the focus subjects while on the second day apparel and home textiles were evaluated. Speakers made presentations on user focused technologies on spinning, knitting, warped knitting, weaving, nonwoven, finishing and dyeing industries. In addition, subjects like energy and material savings, test methods, documentation and labeling, export finance support interesting the whole industries expanded the scope of the conference. German manufacturers continuing to introduce and promote BLUecoMPETENCE in each field continued its tradition at the conferences organized in Turkey.
The BLUecoMPETENCE approach pioneered by VDMA receives a general support from member companies. Companies especially get an advantage over their competitors in the global market by highlighting the energy efficiency, sustainability issues on the machines prepared for the new era. German manufacturers firstly introduced the sustainability approach named BLUecoMPETENCE to the world at ITMA 2011 Barcelona and continue their studies within this scope at full speed. With the frame of today’s and tomorrow’s social needs, by positioning themselves as technical problem solvers; machinery builders focus on energy consumption, material and resources. On the other hand, BLUecoMPETENCE has become an international trade mark within the whole industrial spectrum for sustainable technological solutions. The campaign launched with focus on energy efficiency is supported by all VDMA member companies. The Energy Efficiency Guide published by VDMA also aims to help the industry on discussions dealing with efficiency criteria, carbon dioxide-free foot print and more objective comparability.
Turkish Manufacturers Shall Highlight Quality
The opening speech was made by Fritz P. Mayer, Chairman of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and he stated that the Turkish textile industry shall focus on higher quality. Mayer underlining the importance of the development of the technical textiles industry and creating own trademarks informed that the Turkish textile can overcome the obstacles in the Future in that way. Fritz Mayer also specially thanked the media partner Textil Dunyasi Magazine besides Onestop Company for their contribution to the event.
Mayer mentioned that with a market share of 30 to 35 per cent makes the German textile machinery sector Turkey’s technology partner number one and stated that they are proud that the deliveries of machinery from Germany increased more than the whole textile machinery imports of Turkey from other countries in 2012. In addition, at their opening speeches, Ismail Hakki Hacialioglu, President Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association (TCMA), Ismail Gülle, Chairman Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association (ITKIB) and Adil Konukoglu, Chairman Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce underlined the long and established relations between the Turkish textile sector and the German textile machinery industry.
Representatives from leading manufacturer companies such as AKSA Akrilik Kimya, Beyteks Tekstil, Hassan Tekstil, Kipaş Mensucat, Kordsa, Merinos, Mogul, SANKO Holding, Selcuk Group, Yünsa and numerous other companies including small and medium ones participated the conference and they contributed to the commercial relationships between Turkey and Germany.
The next stop of VDMA’s events dedicated for textile countries will be at Indonesia on 15-16 April 2013.
