UTİB looks at 2016 hopefully

Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association which completed 2015 with 1, 2 billion dollars of export, is looking at 2015 hopefully. Burkay, the President of UTIB, said that they targeted 1,6 billion dollar of export for 2016.

UTİB looks at 2016 hopefully

While Turkish export numbers closed 2015 under the targets, textile sector is the leading among the sectors which had export loss. Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) that completed 2015 with 1, 2 billion dollar of export, is looking at 2016 hopefully.

The Chairman of the Board of UTIB, Ibrahim Burkay who stated that foreign trade would regain speed with the recovery process at global economy and with the regional political stability, said ‘’Even a under value is mentioned for both Turkish textile export and our association when compared to the previous year, we believe that foreign trade will regain speed with the recovery process at global economy and regional political stability. We target 1, 6 billion dollar of export for 2016’’.

Political Developments directed to New Markets

Burjay who expressed that political and economic developments happened in nearby geographies affected textile sector as well where export was dense, also said ‘’As being business world, while we maintain to search for new market places in the direction of development targets of our country for export, we are improving methods which will get stronger at alternative markets. Within this scope, we succeeded to increase our activity in USA and Iran where we have opened out new collaborations’’. Burkay who stated that as UTIB they realized the most export to Germany, United Kingdom, Romania, USA and Russia respectively in 2015, he also stated that while regression happened in European market and Middle East market where export centered last year, in USA countries, increase more than 20% was caught.

UTIB works with the target of Sustainable Development

Ibrahim Burkay who said that they kept on contributing to sustainable development targets with the studies which led the development of the sector as being UTIB, emphasized that they signed under important events throughout 2015. President Burkay told ‘’We actualized 7th of our R&D project market in Bursa where the heart of sector beats and 5th of the Turkish Home Textile Design Competition. We took the first steps for very important projects which will gain speed to our textile industry. We organized successfully COHO Bursa and Home & Style fairs which will make our city as the center of the fair organization and gain speed to textile volume. On the other hand, we laid the foundations of Textile and Technical Textile Perfection Center which has a strategically importance on the transition of value- added production’’.

Ibrahim Burkay, the Chairman of the Board of UTIB, who uttered that they believed in export to regain speed,  said ‘’Putting economic policies into practice in a way which will meet the expectations of business life with the steps which will regulate collaborations again at international relations will carry us to our growth targets. Besides, actualizing supports for target markets and value- added production will enable our export to rise up again’’.
