Organized retail sector's growth targets are continuing to advertise Turkey's name in the international arena much more with the stores they have opened in abroad. The United Markets Association (BMD), serving as a roof organisation of the brands in Turkey, has shown its support to the process with "Overseas Expansion Meetings". BMD Chairman Sinan Öncel states the number of stores to be opened abroad this year is expected to exceed 500, indicating that Turkish brands have carried out important economic operations across borders. "99 BMD brands have more than 2500 stores in 110 countries. We aim to increase this number over 3,000 at the end of the year", says Öncel.
Cüneyt Yavuz: We Will Continue To Grow In Abroad
BMD Board Member and Blue CEO Cüneyt Yavuz emphasizes that the brands of Turkey will continue to grow abroad more steadily. "We will continue to support our brands that aim to enter new markets in this frame as well as to the strategic plans of our brands operating in abroad. We will use e-commerce and digitalization, which we call the new economy, more effectively. As BMD brands, we will share our savings with each other in our overseas expansion studies and we will reach target markets in much faster way. "
Vahap Küçük: We Aim To Open 1000 Stores In Abroad In 2023
LC Waikiki Chairman Vahap Küçük says they opened their first store in abroad in Romania in October 2009 and that they have so far reached 322 stores in 35 countries in the last 8 years. "By the end of December, we will open 82 new stores in abroad and thus end 2017 with 404 stores in total. We will carry our foreign operations to 39 countries this year by adding Malaysia, China, Israel and Malta to the existing 35 countries. In abroad, we will reach 518 stores at the end of 2018 and 650 stores in 2019. As of the end of 2023, which is the 100th anniversary of the founding of our Republic, we plan to reach 1000 stores abroad," says Küçük, suggesting that they have met their customers in 231 cities abroad.
Süleyman Orakçıoğlu: We Will Be One Of The Top 5 Leading Brands In The World
Orka Holding Chairman Süleyman Orakçıoğlu suggests they have effectively maintained their global journey with Damat, Tween and D'S Damat stores and sales points in more than 70 countries. Orakçıoğlu says they aim to be one of the leading brands of apparel sector in the world in the next 5 years. "We currently have 100 stores in abroad and 200 in Turkey. At the end of the year, we plan to reach 160 stores in abroad and 220 stores in Turkey. In 2020, we will double our turnover.", concludes Orakçıoğlu.
