According to the statement made by the İTO, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, the largest business network of the Istanbul private sector and the biggest chamber of Turkey, has registered its 800,000th member. The membership certificate of the 800,000th member of the chamber, Tetra Strategic Information Solutions and Consultancy Limited Company, was presented to the company partners Büşra Koç and Sevil Ünal Doğan by the İTO Board of Directors Chairman Şekib Avdagiç. The İTO Chairman Şekib Avdagiç, who made statements in the press, stated that the İTO focuses its power on encouraging its members to invest more, to export more and to employ more.
While underlining their responsibility towards managing 800,000 members, Avdagiç said the following; “We have a responsibility towards Turkey, towards our members, and towards our city. The first step of our responsibility is production in any manner, while ensuring steps on its realization. Turkey will grow with production, and will grow with our increasing number of companies, and will grow with our companies open their horizons to the world. İTO has been doing this for 142 years, since the body continues its journey that started in 1882 with 800 thousand companies. With its 800 thousand members, the establishment works with the awareness of its responsibility to bring the Turkish economy amongst the world's leading economies."
"The İTO Family Added Around 100 Thousand Entrepreneurs in Just Two Years’’
Şekib Avdagiç stated that while the İTO fulfills the duties enforced by the legislation on the one hand, the institution also represent the Istanbul business world both in the country and around the world and work on and implement projects and legislations that will bring the business world together around new goals.
Avdagiç emphasized that while the İTO keeps its finger on the pulse of the business world, the chamber applies its power to generate investment, added value and employment for Istanbul in the most effective way, and noted that the Chamber is the power of Turkey and the pioneer of the Turkish economy.
Avdagiç, who emphasized on their member registration for 700 thousandth member in October 2022, and said, "Today, we are giving the certificate to our 800 thousandth member who registered with the İTO. This means that the İTO family, with its assembly, professional committees, affiliates and employees, has grown by approximately 100 thousand companies just in the last 2 years. With our 800 thousand businesses and more than 1.5 million owners and partners, we have become the biggest chamber in Turkey and one of the two biggest chambers in the world, together with Paris, in terms of the number of members. This is a source of pride for Istanbul and the Istanbul private sector."
