Bursa textile sector which inholds a wide product range from yarn production to garment industry production hosted CEO of Finland Textile and Ready- to- Wear Association, Anna Kaisa Auvinen and the President of Finland Textile and Ready- to- Wear Association , Jouko Salakka. The Chairman of the Board of the Association of Uludağ Textile Exporters (UTIB), Osman Nuri Canik who gathered with Finn committee which carried out research in Bursa gave information to the committee on the activities of UTIB and UIB (Uludağ Exporters Association).
Canik who reminded that Turkey has the biggest textile manufacturer position of Europe said ‘’Turkey is the third biggest textile exporter of Europe and third biggest home textile exporter of the world. Turkey realized about 9 billion dollar of total textile export and 19 billion dollar of total ready-to- wear export in 2014. In addition to this, about 20% of 407 million dollar textile import of Finland in 2014 belongs to Turkey. And the ready-to- wear import of Finland is 2 billion from the world and Turkey’s export for Finland is 107 million dollars’’.“We occurs to the world first’’
Canik who stated that Turkey is one of the countries which occurs to the world first at textile and ready-to- wear sectors, maintained his words as the following: ‘’Turkish industrialist can now present high quality at any fields from production to promotion, from R&D to marketing. Our studies are carefully and curiously followed by USA, Italy, Germany, China, India and similar countries. This success has been achieved by focusing on high value- added, fashion and brand oriented products within the scope of export- directed strategy of Turkey’’.
Canik who recorded that one of the main targets of Turkish textile sector is to have a lasting and reputable position at Finn marketplace with its own brands, said ‘’Within this framework, I believe that Turkey and Finland have many things to learn from each other at textile sector and this share will uncover with useful results’’.
CEO of Finland Textile and Ready- to- Wear Association, Anna Kaisa Auvinen gave information on the activities of Finland Textile and Ready- to- Wear Association. Auvinen who said that they are following the studies of UTIB closely, especially mentioned that they are the strict follower of UTIB R&D Project Market project and the Contract Hotel Expo Fair which will be organized in Bursa on November. Auvinen expressed that these projects are important for textile sector.
