The Turkish Clothing Manufacturers’ Association (TGSD) is holding the 10th Istanbul Fashion Conference at İstanbul Çırağan Palace Kempinski this year on the dates of October 11-12 under the theme “Why Turkey?” The conference will underscore the strength of the garment industry in Turkey, its sustainability and its competencies as an unrivalled business partner in the region. The B2B Bilateral Meetings Platform, which will be held on the second day of the conference, will prepare the groundwork for significant collaboration.
TGSD President Şeref Fayat emphasizing that the B2B Bilateral Meetings Platform provided significant business opportunities for the local manufacturers quoted his wordings as follows; “Anatolia has a strategic significance in terms of garment production. Among the provinces having the highest share in ready-to-wear exports, after Istanbul the provinces; İzmir, Denizli, Bursa, Adıyaman, Mardin, Tekirdağ, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa, Batman, Adana, Malatya, Ordu, Kırklareli, Tokat and Mersin takes place. We are calling out all the producers operating in the Anatolia Region: “Let's be all together in October. Let’s sign a $ 3 billion business contract with our producing power.”
The conference will host speakers from the upper management of the world’s biggest brands and purchasing groups and will provide a platform for sharing experiences and expectations. On the first day of the conference, priority agenda items of the industry will be addressed from fashion and design to sustainability. An integral part of the conference and widely expected to host more than one thousand bilateral meetings as in previous years, the Platform is very popular with the participants. The Platform will be hosting local and international ready to clothing giants such as Boyner, DeFacto, Koton, Best Seller, El Corte Ingles, Hermes Otto, Marks & Spencer, New Look, Pimkie, Spring Near East Manufacturing, Varner and VF.
