Due to the declination of social and economic sanctions applied in the recent period, European textile investors directed to Iran. Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) took an important step on establishing new business connections with the meeting it organized in Tehran. Ismail Gülle; the President of ITHIB who talked after the meeting said that he hoped the cooperations between two countries would increase much more after the embargos were removed. Gülle said ‘’Iran is our 5th biggest market place. We have been a serious developing in this market place which is growing with the contributions of preferred market studies on textile sector. Although we had fall in other countries at our export at various fields particularly at textile sector this year, I can say that we provided plus here’’.
We want to benefit from our market advantages
Gülle said ‘’Iran is one of the countries in which our trade gives plus. We want to take our place at the market with the advantages which will appear after the latest developments in Iran. We want to use the advantage of country and neighborhood relation. We know that both we and our Iranian friends are demanding on using these two intimacies. We received many response on this while we shuttling Iran. We just came to Iran with 50 businessmen including the ones who came Iran for the first time. I thank Mr. President and Mr. Prime Minister who helped us until now. Banking system between two countries needs to be regulated in order to run it in a better order. Therefore, Iran has important responsibilities’’.
The Iranian are very willing
Gülle who said that if Turkey’s substructure is strengthened, it will reach to an important position at 7 billion dollars Iran market, also said ‘’Now as being textile, we have about 300 million dollars export in 9 months for this country. It will increase to 400 million dollars until the end of the year. This is an important number and is above 20% compared to the last year. The share of Turkey in export is increasing day by day. In this respect, we have the possibility of running this by folding this process. We will be able to carry out this. Especially preferential trade agreement contributed this export to increase. The process after this will happen with the reducing of the customs taxes. We saw here that there was a serious developing for textile sector. Seeing willing and excited Iranian businessmen portfolio made us happy’’.
