More than 500 participants attended the conferences held by VDMA, the Association of German Textile Machinery Manufacturers, in Jinan, Hangzhou and Quanzhou. In addition to the issue of sustainability, new textile applications and automation solutions were discussed in the events, where 16 member companies that are engaged in the production of textile technologies and machines took part. The innovations focused on energy saving and productivity were also introduced to the manufacturers in the manufacturers of the regional market. In 2011, Germany’s textile machinery imports over the world reached EUR 3,3 billion with an increase of 23 percent. In the same period Germany’s exports to China exceeded EUR 1 billion. The German textile machinery manufacturers are the greatest suppliers of China. On the basis of the production plants in China, the facilities of the German companies have a greater share than the other companies.
More than 500 important sector representatives from the growing technical textile and nonwoven industry of China participated in the one-day conferences held on March 5,7 and 9 in Jinan, Hongzhou and Quanzhou respectively. The conferences were organized by VDMA Textile Machinery Association and VDMA China Representative Office in cooperation with China Textile Information Center (CTIC) and China Textile Leader (CTL).
China’s technical textiles market, which were 755t in 2010 in the field of automotive industry, aims to reach 1,400t in 2017. “Worldwide leading German technology suppliers play a key role to reach the targets in the transformation process of China’s textile industry, said Fritz P. Mayer, President of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and Managing Associate of Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik. “In the rising global competition in terms of development, innovation and value addition, technical textiles offer a great opportunity in achieving success. Conserving resources – securing savings-potential” is a helpful VDMA-Guide on energy efficiency; it is part of the mechanical engineering industry’s Blue Competence sustainability initiative,” added Mayer.
In the opening session of the conference, Li Binhong, President of China Textiles Development Center stated that the future competitiveness of China’s textile industry is closely related to the development and production of technical textiles with high added value. Underlining that the German textile machinery manufacturers have an important role for the Chine’s industry, Bi Linghong reminded that renewable energies , environmental protection, the construction industry, transport, aerospace and geotechnics are driving forces to stimulate further technical textiles applications.
With the presentation he made on “China Wind Energy Development” in the opening speech of the conference in Quanzhou, Zhuang Yuexing, Vice General Engineer of fan blade R&D Department of Goldwind, which is one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world, made a great contribution to the application areas of the technical textiles.
