KYSD which was founded with the gather of about 40 companies in 1995 is the most important roof organization of a sub- industry which gives service to textile and garment industry sector having 50 billion dollars of export today. KYSD which left 20 years behind signs under important studies in the name of growth of sub- industry which is indispensable for textile and garment industry. KYSD, signing under many events and organizations at the marketing and promotion activities on the purpose of pioneering to the firms for developing the sector with the 8 industrial groups within it (hanger, narrow weaving and knitting, button buckle and metal accessory, label, zipper, quilting, yarn, buckram- fibre and wadding), represents our country and the sector in the important fairs at the same time.
KYSD work with the understanding of ‘’A complete industry cannot exists without sub- industry’’
Chairman of the Board of KYSD, Osman Ege who emphasized at any turn that textile and garment industry cannot be thought free from the sub- industry expressed that the contribution of the sub- industry for the growth of textile export of Turkey is big. Ege who stated that they maintain the studies with the understanding of ‘’A complete industry cannot exists without sub- industry’’, underlined that a strong sub- industry means a strong ready wear and garment industry sector.
“Ready Wear and Sub- Industry must adjoin at any activity’’
Ege who emphasized that ready wear sector is the main customer of the sub- industry and both of the sectors need to help each other at any activity, expressed that more local sub- industry needs to be used for the sector to be get bigger.
Strong Contribution to the Sector
Osman Ege who stated that KYSD reached a member number exceeding 110, said ‘’KYSD and our sector contribute more to the economy with its manufacture, employment and export power than many other sector. 10% of 50 billion dollars of garment industry manufacture of our country belongs to our sector. We have an indispensable place for textile and garment industry and we did our best to support them and we will continue to do.’’
“The Power of Sub- Industrialist is reaching to the World Scale’’
Ege who uttered that they were founded with small scaled firm 20 years ago, stated that they got bigger as both firm number and the capacity. Chairman of the Board of KYSD, Osman Ege who expressed that the sector attained a power prominent at the world scale, also stated that they did their best to meet the deficiencies in the sector.
KYSD which provides many opportunity for the members for the improvement of the sector like training and seminars, targets to widen the vision of the sector with these activities. Ege who told that 50% of the ready production is now carried out by USA, China and Japan, said that they signed under activities for increasing the promotional and marketing activities to raise the market share of Turkey.
Ege who stated that they supported many fairs as being KYSD in which their members participated and they would maintain their studies on this issue, said ‘’ Ifexpo, Egytex, Premier Vision Paris and Premier Vision İstanbul, Fas Morocco Style became the fairs at which our members participated, we supported as being the association and took part. Besides, we organized a commercial committee with our members for Egytex Egypt Fabrics and Accessory Fair. All of them were positive and beneficial fairs for our members.’’
KYSD signs under special project with significant collaborations
KYSD which signed under many important collaborations in order to meet the expectations of ready wear and garment industry from the sub- industry, carries out common studies with important establishments of the sector at the same time. KYSD, organizing common wisdom meetings with Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association (ITHIB), voices their expectations at many subjects, export being in the first place in these meetings. KYSD which has common studies with the establishments such as Istanbul Trade Chamber, Association of Turkish Clothing Industrialists (TGSD), Federation of Fashion and Ready Wear (MHGF), continues to develop projects for the benefit of the sector.
Osman Ege who gave information on Production and Development projects which is carried out under the management of Istanbul Chamber of Industry for sub- industry so as to compete at international markets, said that more than 20 members are supported with this project by KYSD. ‘’Our sub- industry committee taking place in Istanbul Chamber of Industry started a Production and Development project with the confirmation of the Board of Istanbul Chamber of Industry. More than 20 members are participating to the project started with the confirmation of the Board of Istanbul Chamber of Industry. In the project which is predicted to take 3 years, both the necessity analyze and training of our sector will be done and commercial committees will be organized by determining target countries. With this, the necessity share of the export share of our sector will be able to increase.’’
Solution Offers from KYSD to the Personnel Need in the sector
Osman Ege who stated that a big qualified employee need requires at all of the fields of textile and ready wear recently, also stated that this subject is the most important one among the subjects to be solved at outfit sub- industry field. Ege who shared information on the studies they carried out, said ‘’One of the studies that our association made on this issue latest, became to issue a report on which personnel are needed in which fields. This report was submitted to The Exporters’ Association by being prepared upon the suggestion coming from Turkish Employment Agency via Exporters’ Association.’’
Ege who mentioned the education necessity in then sector as well, stated that they maintained their contributions as the association on this subject. Ege who told ‘’We bear down on meeting the education deficiency in the sector with the training and seminars we give for our members’’, also said that they saw the positive contribution of this to the sector every time.
