Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman of the Board Mustafa Buluntu made a statement to the press members working in the city regarding the 2022 Turkish Export figures shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). Buluntu, speaking at the meeting held at KMTSO, stated that Kahramanmaraş has recorded a level compared to the previous year. While Buluntu recorded that in the sector classification, Textile and Raw Materials is the first exporter in 2022 with 868.9 million dollars, also said that Italy, Germany, Egypt, Morocco and Portugal are ranked amongst the top 5 country that the city carried out the most exports in 2022.
Turkish Export Champions are Chemicals and Products
Referring to the fact that chemicals and their products are the export champions of 2022 with 33.5 billion dollars in sector classification, continued his statement with the following: “Turkey's exports increased by 3.1 percent in December compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 23 billion dollars. Kahramanmaraş exports decreased by 15.9 percent in December compared to the same month of the previous year and recorded as 114 million dollars. Chemicals and products were the export champions of 2022 in sector classification by achieving 33.5 billion dollars in Turkey general.
Textile is at the Top again in Kahramanmaraş
Automotive industry ranked second with 31 billion dollars, and ready-made clothing and apparel ranked third with 21.2 billion dollars. In Kahramanmaraş, in the account of sector-based records, Textile and Raw Materials ranked first with 868.9 million dollars in exports in 2022, while ferrous and non-ferrous metals were second with 217 million dollars, ready-made clothing and apparel third with 126 million dollars, paper products fourth with 117 million dollars, and cement ranked fifth with 29 million dollars. The top 5 exporting countries of Kahramanmaraş in 2022 were Italy, Germany, Egypt, Morocco and Portugal.
Export Target to Reach 3 Billion Dollars
In the account of exports by cities, Kahramanmaraş ranked 17th with 1 billion 464 million dollars. As for Kahramanmaraş's export vision, we set a vision for the years 2023-2026. Our first goal is to increase exports. Our goal is to increase exports to 3 billion dollars within this vision. In addition, we aim to increase the export unit value by making value-added products. Another goal of ours is to expand the reach of our country in exports from 2,700 km to 3,200 km. These are our main goals. I wish our export figures to be beneficial for our Kahramanmaraş and Turkey.
