The Textile Machinery Association (VDMA) continues to take steps for increasing share in Asian market. German manufacturers the BLUecoMPETENCE project that increased efficiency with the support of global market, brought to the attention of Asian customers as well. The studies performed on sustainability and efficiency by German machinery producers were appreciated. The reaction from visitors of ITMA Asia to the project was positive while they welcomed especially VDMA’s approach to focus on practical examples instead of certification experiments. The success stories from German companies themed “Sustainability Meets profit” showed textile manufacturers exactly how to realise substantial raw material and energy savings with the help of German technology.

German Manufacturers Drew Positive Conclusion

German machinery producers, who exhibited their products covering a net total of 6,402 square meters, had biggest area as per countries. In terms of visitors participating to the exhibition outside China, Germany was at the top with 112 exhibitions. In the statements made by executives of companies, it was emphasised that the exhibition was very successful for them. Fritz P. Mayer underlined that the vast majority of the visitors were serious buyers and they were extremely happy with the business opportunities gained from this show.

Next stop ITMA Asia 2014

A VDMA survey indicates that manufacturers will have successful processes in the post exhibition period. According to this research, most of the German exhibitors evaluate the prospects for the post exhibition business to be positive. Yet the authorities emphasised that one cannot expect all segments to be successful, and in addition to these successful processes, they expect stagnation particularly in spinning sector. Moreover, the vast majority of exhibitors from the finishing machinery segment reported that they expect an increasing and positive development of the Asian market in both the short-term and the long-term perspective until the end of 2014. The good results of ITMA ASIA 2012 were also reflected in the trade fair planning of the German companies. 61 % of the German exhibitors at the 2012 show already intend to take part at the next show from 16th to 20th June 2014 in Shanghai. This fact leads up to define ITMA Asia as the most effective business platform in China and the rest of Asia.
