Designer Fırat Karapınar and leather engineer Selin Yılmaz are titled the champions of "Derin Fikirler, Leather Design and Production Contest", held for the purpose of improving the design and production quality in the Turkish leather sector and increasing the share of value-added products in exports for the seventh time by Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association (EİB), with the theme "Mass and Idea Rain". Designer Özgün İnceoğlu and leather engineer Tuba Dilber ranked second with "Athena" theme while designer Kübra Çiçek and leather engineer Hakan Deniz ranked third with "Me" theme during Derin Fikirler, Leather Design and Production Contest .
Final Fashion Show of the Derin Fikirler, Leather Design and Production Contest is held in 360 İzmir Hilton Garden Inn. The award of the winners, Fırat Karapınar and Selin Yışmaz, of the 7th Derin Fikirler, Leather Design and Production Contest is submitted by Sabri Ünlütürk, Coordinator Chairman of Aegean Exporters' Associations and Ender Yorgancılar, Chairman of Chamber of Industry of Aegean Region.
Famous Faces In Jury
The designs of the designers are assessed by a jury consisted of familiar faces during Derin Fikirler, Leather Design and Production Contest. President of the Jury is Erkan Zandar, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association and the following persons took their places in the Jury: Atıl Kutoğlu, Fashion Designer, Erdal Matraş, Chairman of Turkish Leather Industrialists' Association, Musa Evin, Chairman of Turkish Leather Apparel Sellers, Mustafa Şenocak, Chairman of Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association, Eyüp Sevimli, CEO of IZBAS and Member of Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association, Ruken Mızraklı, Member of Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association, Sedef Orman, Deputy President of Derimod, Siren Ertan, Fashion Designer, Süleyman Tahiroğlu, Vice Chairman of Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association and Suzan Erman, Boar Member of Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association.
"We Would Like Genuine Leather To Be Preferred"
Delivering a speech during the Final Fashion Show, Jak Galiko, Chairman of Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association states designers have turned towards synthetic and natural fibers recently and they have established the main theme of this year's contest as "Propaganda" for they believe leather needs a promotion. "Preferring natural leather products instead of synthetic and natural fibers is also important in terms of health. We want designers to meet leather", he concludes.
