Speaking at the Joint Meeting of the Board of Directors of Aegean Exporters Associations, TIM President Gülle emphasized that the issue of export is not an issue of exporters anymore, but is an issue affects the whole country. Gülle, while stressing on the basis of Turkey's exports, stated that; “Export is the biggest service to this country. Our work is so meaningful that I thank you all for your efforts. We need to do new things. We need to make TIM out of being just an approval foundation and we need to optimize it as a foundation serving for the Turkey’s future "he said.
New Target New Markets
TİM President Gülle said, “We have to go to new markets. In Spain, Germany and the UK, there is a great deal of ready-made clothing exports, whereas in France and Japan, these export areas should be focused on. Leather exports have increased by 15 percent. We export to Germany, India, and France. We should do the same for the US, Canada and South Korea. We should do the same to the Far East countries”
”We are aiming to get 1.5 percent in the world market in 2023“
Turkey Exporters Assembly President Ismail Gülle, shared the export targets as following: "We're getting 1 percent currently on the market. In 2023, we aim to get 1.5 percent in the world market. Our focus on these products in these markets will be one of our success stories. We know the problems of exporters and we are trying to solve them. Every exporter is precious. We have no exporters to lose. We insist on solving the problems.”
5.7 of the exports are made with TL
TIM President İsmail Gülle answered a question about export with TL as following; “I was not expecting such a good performance in terms of export activities with TL. 5,7 of export is made with TL. It’s such a good record if we consider the performance of exports. A study will be carried out in Ankara about the last application, and we will discuss the application that has been reached today.”
TIM President İsmail Gülle, answered a question about the financial difficulties of exporters; "Exporters should have priority in reaching finance. Amendments in series will come back with success. Today we need to solve the problem with a simple treatment tomorrow without needing a serious surgery," he said.
We have difficulty in finding credit.
Eskinazi, who emphasized that exports became dependent on imports, stated also; “We need foreign currency. Currently, the exporter has difficulty in reaching the loan. We are not able to obtain loans except for Turkish Eximbank. Large part of the reserves of all the exporters' unions in Turkey to a specific period of time we allocated to Turkish Eximbank. Türk Eximbank will provide 10 times the financing to this source and will provide TL loans to our exporters. We would like to thank Turk Eximbank as exporters because of its dark day-friendly attitude. It should be allowed to use our own currency in our own purchases.”
