In the International R & D Project Market, which is held in order to present the projects to the investors and industry by Uludag Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB), the intresting projects are coming true. ''The antimicrobial Home Textile made of Olive Waste Pomace'', the innovative project of Mevlüde Bilgiç and Şule Sultan Uğur, was admired by İlhan Sarı, the owner of İlhan Sarı Organic Olive Farm, and it has turned into a partnership.
Hygienic Fabrics Will Be Obtained from Olive
Expressing her happiness resulting the transformation of the project into a patnership, Şule Sultan Uğur stated that it might be possible to manufacture antibacterial textile fabrics with the olueropein owing to the project titled “Antimicrobial Home Textile out of Waste Olive Pulp” and continued by saying: “microorganisms which meet their moisture need from the textile products and food need from the human skin lead to undesired color changes, staining and sudden loss of resistance and bad smells in particular in the textile materials. In the project, it comes to be filled the oleuropein, which is important for durability of the olive tree, in halloysite nanoclay particles and it will be applied to home textile materials''.
Making statements about the partnership, the investor and the owner of Ilhan Sarı Organic Olive Farm, the world's largest organic olive farms consisting of about 185 thousand trees, İlhan Sarı said that: ''We had many projects in order to achieve added value from the branch, the water and oil of olive. I think that the products, which will be developed thanks to our recent partnership, will be used in many fields of textile.''.
