Belgian textile machinery manufacturers focused on Road Show in Pakistan. The companies to share their major works with Pakistan textile sector aim to extend their trade volumes in the event organised under the umbrella of Symatex. The date of organization was explained as 8-9-12 October 2012. The executives of Symatex stated that they planned an event where experience and knowledge will be shared mutually. Road Show will be held in Karachi on 8 October, in Multan on 9 October and in Lahor on 12 October.
It is planned that the Belgian industry will meet Pakistan industry in 3 different programs and it is estimated that latest technological products will be discussed. The executives of Belgian textile technology industry will present significant information on new developments in the areas of flat and pile weaving technology, jacquard technology, weft feeders, finishing machinery, weaving accessories, textile inspection and control systems, textile industry automation, carding technology, and extrusion technology. Belgian providers will explain their successful works to Pakistan textile industry to reduce raw material waste, energy and water consumption and to increase competitiveness.
President of Flanders State Kris Peeters made important statements on the issue and emphasised that they deem Pakistan as a significant trading partner. Explaining that Flanders Region is responsible of the commercial relation between Belgium and Pakistan, he continued; “The Government of Flanders is carrying out successful studies for the development of region. Supporting new investors and entrepreneurs with flexible conditions, the government continues to offer special incentives to companies. Moreover, the region is working for supporting successful projects of global companies”.
Reminding that, in 2011, total Flemish exports to Pakistan amounted to around 225 million Euros, Peeters said an increase with 18% is seen in such a short, two years time. Peters reported: “We are very proud that our machinery supports the continued growth and development of the Pakistan industry and economy. Flemish exports to Pakistan have grown continuously since 2000 and textile machinery in particular has been a successful item of this trade. In 2011, Flemish imports from Pakistan reached 279 million Euros of which textiles represents 70%”.

The companies that are under the umbrella of Symatex generally operate in fields such as apparel, technical textiles, textile finishing machinery. Belgium also owns the firms producing the fastest machines in air jet weaving. With respect to textile patent applications in this country, textile machinery companies are always in the first 5 ranks. The country’s biggest markets are USA, China, India and Pakistan.
