Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) which implents the publicity and promotion of Italian textile machinery manufacturers, perates in 130 countries without profit.ACIMIT with 300 members, has a market share of about 3 billion euros. ACIMIT members which exports 80 percent of the machines manufactured, is increasing its market share with each passing day.
ACIMIT members which aims to promote the quality of Italian textile technology, performs 45 percent of its sales to Asia, 35 percent to Europe, 9 percent to South America, 9 percent to North America and 5 percent to Africa.
Turkey where 10 percent of the exports are made, continues to be one of the most important markets for ACIMIT which continuously increases its efficiency and market share. ACIMIT which increased its promotion works for the Italian goods to reach wider markets, takes place in may events with the cooperation of Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE).

ACIMIT and ICE which organizes workshops for the textile industry in our country, describes the advantages of 'Made in Italy' label to manufacturers in the events. ACIMIT which doesn't use any fund for the promotional works from the Italian government, after the slowdown in machine orders because of the global crisis, continues its promotional activities in Ethiopia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan as well as Turkey, China and India which are developing. ACIMIT which gives special importance to Turkey where one of the most intensive promotional activities are done, has a growing market share with each passing day. Weaving machines constitutes 30 percent of total exports to Turkey, knitting machines 20 percent and spinning machines 15 percent.
The Secret of Italian Success
Italian textile machines which shows common characteristics such as advanced technology, flexibility and versatility, price-quality ratio, are mostly produced in Como, Biella, Milan, Bergamo, Bresici and Prato where textile production is mostly from antiquity. Italian manufacturers that are in close cooperation with textile and clothing industry, are carrying out their R & D and P & D works on safety and environmental by following European and international regulations. The most important issues ACIMIT cares is the education of employees that work in the textile industry. For this, ACIMIT that closely follows the training programs in universities, has business and textile engineering programs that implements together with LIUC-Universita Carlo Cattaneo di Castellanza and Citta Studi Biella universities. ACIMIT which provides jobs for people studying at this program, in this sense operates programs in close cooperation with the World Bank.
