The Association of Aegean Exporters (EİB) rewarded its 56 members which contributed 5.5 billion dollars for Turkish export in 2017 at İzmir Swiss Hotel with ‘Award Ceremony of the Stars of Export’. At the ceremony, the awards were given by Nihat Zeybekçi; Minister of Ecnomy, Mehmet Büyükekşi; President of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly and Sabri Ünlütürk; Coordinator President of the Association of Aegean Exporters.
Foreign Markets Were Accessed
Ünlütürk highlighted that they achieved about 12 billion dollars export by increasing 9.4% in 2017 when compared 2016. Ünlütürk who said 158 firms from Aegean Region took place at first thousand exporters list declared by Turkish Exporters’ Assembly, stated “İzmir ranked second after İstanbul with 83 firms” also said their export target for 2018 was 13 billion dollars.
Textile Seal At Export
The number of the firms among the Aegean firms which were rewarded at textile field by the Association of Aegean Exporters was also stood out. Following names were listed among the important producers of Turkey at textile sector which became exporter champions: Üniteks Teks. Gıda Motorlu Araçlar San. Ve Tic. A.Ş which is among important producers of Turkey at knitting outfit sector, Sepiciler Çaybaşı Deri San. Ve Tic. A.Ş. which carries on business at leather sector since 1930 and Balta Floorcovering Yer Döşm. San. Ve Dış Tic. A.Ş. which carries on business worldwide with floorcovering and carpet production.
One of Aegean’s important leather producers; Agamer Deri Konfeksiyon San. Ve Tic. A.Ş., Sun Teks San. Ve Tic. A.Ş. which produces at woman and kid’s ready- made clothings field, Menderes Teks. San. Ve Tic. A.Ş which stands out with home textile and upholstery fabric became the second firms at export sector.
Lider Deri Ürünleri San. Ve Tic. A.Ş which is one of important firms at leather field, Roteks Teks. İhr. San. Ve. Tic. A.Ş. which has been carrying on business since 1986 at the sector and İşbir Sentetik Dokuma San. A.Ş. which has 50.000 pieces production capacity per day took place among the export third firms at their sector.
“Rickup in Aegean Region”
By reminding that Aegean Region took investment incentive certificate at production with over Turkish average, Minister Zeybekçi shared the following detail “There is a pickup in Aegean Region. We will see the reflections of these all together”. And Büyükekşi who stated that 8% of Turkish total export was met by Aegean Region, said “3 of the ones which realized the most export were from our city.”
