When we have a look into the yarn demands in the world, ring yarn is the most demanded one while open-end yarn follows it. The result of this also influences our country and consequently influences the machinery selection. The Turkish yarn industry is mainly focused on cotton however; the increase in cotton prices, the price pressure created by the energy costs and global economic crisis in overseas markets experienced in the recent years urges textile industrialists to be more cautious.
Innovations and Trends for Cards
Companies target to improve the sliver quality by expanding their trend carding area on the new carding machines offered to the market. The C 70 model carding machine presented to the market by Rieter for the economic production of carded and combed ring yarns is the widest one with its width of 1,5 m. Excellent raw material exploitation thanks to the adjustable knife on the licker-in, variable insertions of the extraction elements in the pre- and post-carding area as well as to the electronically adjustable flat speed is among e leading features of C 70. The modular construction also permits a rapid adjustment to new raw materials and requirements.
The width of Trützschler Carding Machine TC 11 introduced at ITMA 2011 is designed as 1,28 m while it has a T-Con carding adjustment optimization system with an active carding area of 3,7 sqm. The contacts of the garniture wires can be detected even if it is minimum thanks to the T-Con system and consequently the carding machine can be shut down without any defect. Only the drum is supported by the machine frame at this carding machine. The advantage provided by this is the decrease of thermal changes to minimum levels.
Trützschler Company introduced its TC 8 model carding machine especially designed for the Asian Market at ITMA Asia + CITME 2012, India ITME Exhibitions. The working width of this new carding machine is 1 m and the carding area is 5,3 sqms. TC 8 Carding Machine, whose energy efficiency is improved and high efficiency is highlighted, is provided with T-Con, Magnotop, Nepcontrol, online nep follow-up system within the standard hardware.
Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) offers LC 363/361 carding machines having a width of 1 m, a total of 97 caps and a production speed of 120 kg/hour to the Turkish market. The LC636, which was introduced at India-ITME 2012, is the newest developed carding machine and has a working width of 1,5 m and an active carding area of 1,95 sqm and a production speed of 250 kg/hour. This carding machine has been developed in order to meet the high production demands required for thick numbered and Open-End yarns.

FGX 1 developed by Truetzschler Card Clothing (TCC) and recommended to be used at the carding drum is known to be maintenance-free cylinder clothing. (Figure 1). In addition, the Novotop A flat series used at cap are also newly developed.
Innovations and Trends Offered for Draw Frames
Models using bigger sized cans increased due to less failure time, higher efficiency, better sliver quality, less can cost.
The SB-D 22 double-head draw frame without autoleveling introduced by Rieter at ITME 2012-Mumbai increase production performance with its working speed of 1.100 m/dk and its use of can up to 1.000 mm. The savings made from space and workmanship is especially underlined. Unique centralized drafting system setting and easy modification of the delivery speed on the display panel also enhance customer benefits.
The RSB-D 22 double-head autoleveler draw frame offered by Rieter always manufactures sliver at the same quality and features thanks to its independent autoleveling system on both sides. The belt drives and less number of engines and invertor used at these draw frames offered by Rieter provide less energy consumption. The sliver numbers, production speeds, absorption densities can be adjusted for both sides separately. The reduction of space necessity, low energy consumption and lower capital cost are among the advantages of this draw frame.
At the new DISC LEVELLER TD-DL system used on TD 8 Model Draw Frames introduced in 2012 by Trützschler; sensor and groove plates feature double bearings, with one bearing below and one above the plates. The axle is firmly anchored and does not need to rotate. Both these measures result in improved measuring accuracy and many years of long-term reliability. The bearing hardware are placed symmetrically at the top and bottom of the measurement point. The new quality sensor DISC MONITOR TD-DM in the delivery area of the draw frame permanently monitors the quality data of the sliver.
The Trützschler company offers two different draw frames: for high production speeds (up to 1.000 m/min) TD 8, for combing mills (up to 600 m/min) TD 8-600 model. The energy efficiency is increased thanks to the digital engines used in these draw frames. The bearings used are providing ease of maintenance as they do not need to be lubricated.
