The "Biodegredable (Bio-degradable) Product Project", which aims to eradicate the products in nature without the need for recycling, was completed following a long-term study.  After the supply of a special yarn from a Korean company, which is required for highly regarded project by the world brands under the Yeşim’s production portfolio, the production process of biodegradable fabrics was implemented at the R&D Center. The studies carried out to make all production processes of the product 100 percent dissolved have been successfully completed and t-shirts and sweatshirts that can be completely eliminated in nature have been obtained.

R&D Lies Behind Success

While making a statement on the subject, Yeşim Group CEO Şenol Şankaya expressed that the success achieved lies under the joint work of the R&D Center and the Design Department, and thanked all Yeşim employees whom appointed in the project. Şankaya stated that biodegradable products are on the agenda of many global brands, of which they are positioned as strategic production partners, and amongst their future sustainability strategies. While stating that they are extremely happy to materialize this project in a such process, Şankaya said, “Cotton yarns used in production are 100 percent dissolved in nature, but cotton products become impenetrable in nature and waste is generated due to the chemical processes applied and synthetic materials such as polyester and elastane used. Thanks to this project, processes that can be completely dissolved in nature have been used at every stage of the products produced, such as knitting, sewing, embroidery, dyeing and printing. Supplying the embroidery thread as biodegradable and using algae as a natural process in the dye printing phase as well brought success to the project. At the point we have reached, we have produced t-shirts and sweatshirts.”

Şankaya continued as follows; “We can safely say that all processes in the product we obtain are 100% natural and that the products do not have a chemical effect on nature. Thus, Yeşim has taken another valuable step in line with the "Green factory" and "Sustainable environmentally-friendly production" approach it has been undertaken for many years, and has added another important link to its value-added production chain. We will continue to be amongst the pioneers of our sector by continuing this and similar successful innovative works.”
