TGSD made the launching of Turkish fashion industry to Brasilian Retail Federation. With this initiative, TGSD targets at gaining new markets for Turkish ready wear sector and becoming leader in export.

Turkish Brands Head Towards Brazil

TGSD made an attempt to add new markets to the traditional markets. Last month, TGSD had hosted South Korean guests in İstanbul and it now introduces Turkish fashion industry to the Brasilian Retail Federation.

Making an explanation about this issue, Chairman of TGSD, Cem Negrin said that: “We now head towards Brazil, 8 thousand kilometers far away in the southwest, following South Korea, 10 thousand kilometers far away in the east. We will reach the leader position in export once more by gaining new markets for the Turkish ready wear sector and making branded export.”

TGSD Spread its Arms over 18 thousand kilometers

Negrin said that they made discussions and meetings with a 10-person delegation consisting of Rogue Pellizaro Junior, National Chairman of Brasilian Retail Federation (CNDL) and the chairmen of the associations affiliated to the federation and worked on projects that will promote ready wear trade between two countries. Besides, he stressed that Brazil which has a population of 200 million people is an important market for domestic brands in addition to the Turkish ready wear industry. Mr. Negrin continued by saying: “We informed the delegation about Turkish fashion industry in our headquarter and they visited Koton and Damat Tween. Brasilians met with Yılmaz Yılmaz, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Koton and Osman Arar, General Coordinator of Orka Holding, the owner of Damat Tween brands and invited our brands to open branches in their most remarkable streets by emphasizing that they would give every support. We opened a path towards not only Brazil but also all the South America for our brands having more than 3 thousand branches in the world. As the Turkish ready wear sector, we spread our arms over South Korea on one part, 10 thousand kilometers far away in the east, and over Brazil on the other hand, 8 thousand kilometers far away in the southwest. We incorporated these regions where completely different styles and cultures prevail into our markets.”

As a last point, Negrin emphasized that 40 Brasilian purchase groups would participate at B2B part of Istanbul Fashion and Ready Wear Conference to be held for the 7th time in May, 2014 to make bilateral business contacts. He stressed that this would be a great opening for  limited ready wear trade between two countries.

We Established our Contacts with Brazil

Osman Arar, General Coordinator of Orka Holding, the owner of Damat Tween brands, pointed out to the fact that Brasilian delegation stayed for 3 hours although they intended to stay for half an hour. Arar added that: “We showed our showroom to our Brasilian guests and they admired the diversity and quality of our collections. They said that they don't have such brands offering such a wide range of collection from suits to shorts in Brazil. Brasilian Chairman Roque Pellizaro Junior touched upon the fact that such a brand as Damat Tween would certainly attract a great deal of attention in Brazil. We made our contacts with Brazil  and started to make preparations for our journey.”

We Want to See Turkish Brands in our Streets

Lastly, Chairman of the Brasilian Retail Federation, Roque Pellizaro Junior stated that they were greatly impressed by Turkey which they visited for the first time. He reported that the ready wear trade between two countries would reach a different dimension after this visit. Emphasizing that Turkish fashion industry acquired a fashion-manufacturing structure rather than contract manufacturing, Roque Pellizaro Junior added that: “We invited Turkish brands and ready wear exporters to Brazil. We want to see Turkish brands in our streets in the shortest time possible. Likewise, we desire Brasilian brands show up in Turkey and in İstanbul, in particular.
