Within the scope of the project that has been prepared on the purpose of reviving traditional Turkish handicrafts, the students of Istanbul Fashion Academy (IMA) prepared a collection under the consultancy of Ece Ege who is the creator of the brand of Dice Kayek. In the project which is carried out by the students of İMA and Ece Ege who represents Turkish fashion in the whole world succesfully and proudly, different handicrafts belonging to different Turkish regions were exhibited by carrying into the present day.
5 stundets were selected from İMA Fashion Design Undergraduate Program and Fashion Design Management Undergraduate Program for “Collection Project” Exhibition. The project was worked between the dates 5 January and 31 March 2016. Students who searched for Anatolian handicratfts prepared 15 presentations by using point lace, wire winding, wire bending, mother of pearl inlaid and Ödemiş yarn. In the designs that each stundets formed with 3 presentations, prepared the whole process with couture style and hand sewing. The exhibition which the culture of Ottoman sinking into oblivion and traditional handicrafts were presented with a modern format has great importance for socio- economic in that enable new work possibilities for the region people, save our cultural values and record them.
