Outstanding designer of the fashion world in the international arena, Erdem Moralıoğlu was born in Montreal in 1978 as the son of an English mother and Turkish father. He completed his undergraduate education on fashion in Ryerson University. He received education on fashion in Royal College in London in 2000. Working with Diane von Furstenberg in New York and creating his own brand “Erdem” in London in 2005, Moralıoğlu gained fashion fund awarded by the English Fashion Council and Vogue by leaving such famous English designers as Nicholas Kirkwood and Christopher Kane behind.
Proving himself in the fashion shows throughout the world with his designs, Moralıoğlu exhibits the designs that he offers to Keira Knigtley, Sarah Brown, Ashley Olsen, Claudia Schiffer and Michele Obama in the boutiques in Los Angeles, London, New York and Riyadh. 2015 collection of Moralıoğlu who was one of the figures being mentioned at most in the London Fashion Week was assessed as the most successful collection of Moralıoğlu by the fashion critics. Stating that the concepts of darkness and beauty which the brand of Erdem has tried to create for a long time were balanced for the first time in this collection, critics added that the first details of the collection were feather and lace.

Stating that he includes romantic designs more in his collections, Moralıoğlu added that he is inspired much more by the contrasts and produced more creative designs by using these contrasts. Stating that he is mainly inspired by adventurous women and sometimes women who struggle for life and live away from everything, Moralıoğlu emphasized that he enjoys urging the limits of his perspective and imagination. Continuing his remarks by saying that: “It is possible to see flowers, patterns, solid colours and rebellious designs”, Moralıoğlu said that his collection was put on sale in 27 different countries and Turkey by Vakko.

Stating that he combines different cultures in his designs, Moralıoğlu expressed that cultural interactions, sharing and production assessments dating back to his life prior to design world took him a step further in the fashion world. Saying that: “Being capable of appealing to masses of different cultures thanks to the cultural diversity in my life is a significant competence for me to leave a permanent mark in the fashion world.”, Moralıoğlu added that he sees Istanbul as a world city where different cultures co-exist and survive and Topkapı Palace and London Clock Tower are sources of inspiration for him.
