The Turkish fashion designer Serap Pollard, who lives in London, continues to create successful collections. Pollard is also closely followed by other fashion designers in London. Models to participate the Top Model UK and Top Model Worldwide contest to be organized on 12-13 April in London at Hilton Metropol hotel will wear designs created by Serap Pollard. Pollard to work with eight other fashion designers from England will prepare a special collection for the contest. Serap Pollard, the Turkish fashion designer known with her costumes designed from ecological and recycled products, also introduced the Selalmaz fabric of Kastamonu in London Fashion Week and received great interest.
Bamboo and Silk Fabrics Used
Serap Pollard providing information about the issue;” This work made me really happy. I represent my country with the fashion, the issue which I am best. This is a really honored event,” she said. Pollard stating that the last collection prepared by her is an environmental friendly project informed that she used very special materials. Pollard said that she used mainly bamboo instead of cotton and noted that bamboo is easily recyclable and anti-allergic besides having a healthy and silky touch. Pollard; “I think that Bamboo can compete with cotton and in the future can replace cotton. You can harvest cotton once in a year whereas bamboo can be harvested several times. Thus, in the future I believe bamboo will replace cotton in terms of raw material needs,” she said. Pollard indicated that her designs are natural, organic, recyclable and zero-waste and continued; “I live creative styles in my designs. The most important point I pay attention is to find a common point of healthy life and wear”, she said.
