Demsa Group, which has brought luxury fashion brands such as Harvey Nichols, Tom Ford, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Barbara Bui, SalvatoreFerragamo, Michael Kors, Longchamp, Pal Zileri, DKNY, and Karl Lagerfeld to Turkey, is also preparing to bring 120 years of French Galeries Lafayette to Turkey. Demsa, which has reached 25 % market share in luxury brands, serves with its 150 stores.
Stating that the market of luxury fashion brands has a size of about $ 1 billion, the founder of Demsa, Demet Sabancı Çetindoğan said that they have reached an important position in Turkey and continued her speech as follows: "In this regard, we work with an experienced and professional team. We receive 25 percent of the market share for Luxury fashion brands and products in Istanbul and Ankara. We have luxury stores only in Adana, Antalya and Bodrum. We are advancing in our own line. We observe always the one which is wondered and not found in Turkey. Now, Demsa has become a retail brand having 1,223 employees and 131 stores.
We Should Create Turkish Brands
Stating that we should create Turkish brands in the market, Mrs. Çetindoğan said that: "We are very advantageous compared to other countries in terms of our knowledge and technological situation as well as human resources and creativity. We are not good enough on marketing. We are having difficulty in creating brand. I believe that we can create important values and global brands with the state support and private sector support. This added value can be supported by the State, this is a natural situation.”
