Deciding to increase its production capacity in Turkey, sports-retailer brand Decathlon announces it is looking for producers in garments, heavy-sewing products, plastics and composite materials, shoes, metal, bicycle assembly and materials, sports support food categories to expand its supplier network.
Operating in Turkey since May 2010, Decathlon makes 20 percent of its production in Turkey. The company aims to increase its production share up to 40 percent by the end of 2019.
"Thanks to our successful business model, we will increase the number our stores to 70 within 5 years and we will offer sports experience much closer to our users who embrace us with love. When we started this business in Turkey, sports market grew by 6 percent and this figure increased to 13 percent last year. As Decathlon family, our affect on this increase achieved in the market to make the sports accessible is substantial", suggests Duygu Kög, Business Development Director in Decathlon Turkey.
With 1364 stores in 39 countries, Decathlon has over 1000 suppliers worldwide. Offering products in different sports branches such as running, bicycles, trekking, fitness, tennis, swimming, mountaineering, skiing, fishing, football, Decathlon aims to further enrich its product range through domestic suppliers.
